The Planet Halpax is located in the far reaches of space, suffering from the oppressive rule of the Kharlal Empire led by General Izumo. the plot revolves around Irina, daughter of an ill slave who must return home to the planet of Earth to be cured of his disease. Irina accepts the offer of Ghenie, a Humanoid soldier who warns her about the war that will occur in the next 30 years. In the midst of her despair, Irina steals Drainus starfighter to save her father and overthrow the empire. Drainus is a scrolling shooter game developed by Team Ladybug, a division of Japanese online magazine DenFaminicoGamer who previously known for Shin Megami Tensei: Synchronicity Prologue (2017), Touhou Luna Nights (2019) and Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth (2021).
The most important thing about Drainus is the Reflector System. Players can press the shield button at any time to absorb purple bullets and use them for counterattacks. While some enemy projectiles cannot be absorbed, using the shield button incorrectly can actually hurt the player. Destroyed enemies will drop energy tanks that serve as currency to upgrade Drainus' abilities such as shields and new shooting patterns. Drainus consists of six levels available for Microsoft Windows and Nintendo Switch.
